G2 Esports is looking to make a big move for their Counter-Strike roster as it hopes to grab FaZe’s Nikola “NiKo” Kovač. This information comes from reports by HLTV & 1pv.fr. According to the articles, negotiations are already underway between the two organizations and a deal between them would most likely require one of the largest transfer fees in Counter-Strike history.
NiKo has been a hot commodity for years but sat comfortably on the FaZe Clan roster since March 2017 when he was signed from mousesports. According to Dot Esports he was transferred for a fee of roughly $500,000.
At the current time there’s no word on who would be making their departure from the G2 lineup although the general consensus is François “AmaNEk” Delaunay is the most likely to go.
This move would pair NiKo with his cousin Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač whom he’d predicted to come a successful player back in 2017. This certainly came to fruition as huNter- has soared to the top of Counter-Strike and continued to perform throughout his time on G2.
While FaZe Clan has been the home of some of the most talented CS:GO players in recent years, it’s never lived up to the hype. In the most recent times FaZe has gone 1-8 in matches since replacing Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras with Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye.
Do you think NiKo should go? Is G2 the right place? What will FaZe do?
