Dota 2’s 7.28 patch has been out for only a few days, but we’ve definitely seen our fair share of action on it from the professional teams –thus, we have compiled some of the reactions we’ve seen from players, teams, analysts and casters. On Thursday, December 17th, 2020, Dota 2’s latest massive update was released which saw changes to heroes and items, a new hero added, and a multitude of new items added too – all of which has created a buzz throughout the community.
Now that we have all had a few days to see all of this in action, we look at some of the reactions from the community – with some thoughts on the patch, some funny takes and some hatred toward things. Hoodwink was the new hero released with the patch and after only a few days, the hero has already seen the nerf hammer coming her way. Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling, winner of The International 2015 with Evil Geniuses, instantly posted his take on the new hero – clearly not enjoying it too much.
On the plus side, at least Hoodwink has not received an Aghanim’s Scepter or Shard upgrade just yet – but we’re sure to see that in the new year.
Famed hater of Windranger, Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner was not impressed at all by the heroes new Aghanim’s Shard – which makes her Powershot a global execute if it hits a hero under certain percentage health.
Keeper of the Light saw some of his old abilities returning – such as the ability to heal via his Illuminate being able to heal allies during the day – with Aghanim’s Shard, of course, while his Aghanim’s Scepter now grants the Will-O-Wisp ability.
Team Secret’s Twitter guy got in on the fun too, showing us a strange feature in the game – as well as helping us remember the removal of items.
Lest we forget, Outworld Devourer has now gone back to the original Dota 2 name of Outworld Destroyer – although we are sure that hero barely exists anymore in general.
We’ve already seen the strength of some Aghanim’s Shards – not looking at Phantom Assassin at all here, and we’re sure to see much more as 2020 comes to a close. All-in-all we are sure everyone is enjoying the new update, even when faced with Hoodwink – and we cannot wait to see more Dota 2 action in the new year as the Pro Circuit finally makes its return.
