Subnation, a media and brand advisory company specializing in esports and gaming, has announced a new round of executive hires. The hires, who come from established organizations and brands in the space include Chris Mann as COO (formerly Ultimate Media Ventures), Carla Rizzo as head of brand partnerships (formerly Dolaher Events), and Alec Strasmore as head of influencer relations (formerly FaZe Clan).
These three will look to expand direct relationships with agencies and brands while developing original content, building an influencer network, and launching new lifestyle products, according to a release.
Mann will lead the day-to-day operations focusing on growth of content initiatives and expansion of product collaborations.
Rizzo will be tasked with leading the business development side of Subnation by creating and strengthening relationships with teams and global brands.
Strasmore will search and scout talent for inclusion in the Subnation talent network will assist with packaging branded content and original programming.
Subnation provides services for marketing and media platforms in the gaming and esports lifestyle space. The company helps create original content for marketing campaigns, produces experiential live events, collaborates with creators to produce lifestyle products, and provides advisory services.
This is the second time in as many weeks where executives from prominent esports organizations have left their previous companies and jumped ship. Greg Selkoe along with three others, two who left FaZe Clan, left to form the gaming and esports brand XSET with a focus on inclusivity and social good.
Subnation is an El Selgundo, California-based company that has partnered with brands such as RAZER, Volkswagen, Westwood One, ESL, and L’Oreal.
