The world of video games always tends to surprise the community regularly, and the latest surprise has come through none other than a very famous politician. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, better knows as AOC, is one of the most popular politicians in the United States, especially amongst the youth. While a lot of the older politicians of the world wouldn’t be in favor of gaming, AOC embraced Twitch with popular streamer Pokimane and another US Congresswoman, Ilhan Omar, to play Among Us. Former Hearthstone player Disguised Toast, who is also a popular streamer, was in the party as well.

Now you would probably wonder how well a stream by a politician would do, right? AOC’s followers grew exponentially when she put her Twitch account up on Twitter, and when she first started streaming, got between 300,000 and 400,000 viewers!
Most viewers have tabs for donating at the bottom of the stream page. But AOC decided to use the platform to encourage youngsters to get out there and vote. The United States general election is just two weeks away with Joe Biden from the Democratic Party challenging incumbent Republican Donald Trump, who has been the US President for the last four years. AOC, who represents New York’s 14th District, is a Democrat herself and has been urging people to vote blue.
Of course, when something unprecidented like this happens, the trolls are always there to follow. Someone updated AOC’s Wikipedia page and painted her as an ‘American Twitch streamer’. While that surely isn’t the case, looking at her popularity, she just may end up being one after she gets weary of the life of a politician. Who knows?
