VP.Prodigy line-up becomes Virtus.pro main team

In a rather expected move, Virtus.pro officially announced the transfer of their youth squad, VP.Prodigy to the main team. The new Virtus.pro will start competing next week.

Virtus.pro headquarters have been under a lot of pressure through the last several weeks. In the aftermath of the OMEGA League from September, the entire main team was moved to an inactive status, while VP.Prodigy has also suffered a few roster changes.

While the Virtus.pro main team players will remain under the contract with the organization but still on an inactive status, the VP.Prodigy team finalized their roster earlier this week when  Illias “illias” Ganeev joined the team from Natus Vincere to play under the Virtus.pro banner.

“By the end of September we faced a tough choice: to once again update our first roster or to invest in VP.Prodigy and put our faith in new blood. Today we transfer the VP.Prodigy squad to our first Dota 2 team. I would like to thank ex-VP players. A lot of them are the living legends, their names and victories have been written in the club’s history. Today we start a new chapter that will have a lot of trophies and memorable moments,” said Sergey Glamazda, Virtus.pro CEO.

Virtus.pro roster:

  • Egor “epileptick1d” Grigorenko
  • Danil “gpk” Skutin
  • Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin

The new Virtus.pro line-up will join the action next week, on the 12th of November, when the $500,00 EPIC League main event is set to kick off. Along with Virtus.pro, other seven teams got directly invited to the main portion of the tournament and will be joined by two more squads coming from closed qualifiers.
