The new battle royale on the block, Hyper Scape, has been semi-publically released for only a few hours. Ubisoft decided to give Twitch and other platform streamers instant access to the game to show off to the community. However, viewers can also gain access by either enabling Twitch Drops or registering on Ubisoft’s website.

If you’re unaware, the current Technical Test for the new battle royale will only last for around a week. So, while you might be able to play during this time, your access will be shut off on July 7 or 8 depending on your region.
This is due to the fact that Hyper Scape is in its beta phase and needs more work before a full-scale release. The point of the Technical Test is so Ubisoft can gather information on the game state and make further developments accordingly.
However, some current aspects, like the Battle Pass, will stick around. The developers said on stream today that Hyper Scape will feature new seasons with new Battle Passes and regular updates that will shift the meta. This is certainly great to hear, but time will tell if Ubisoft can deliver on these promises.
As for the esports and competitive side of things, Hyper Scape won’t be focusing on that for quite some time. The developers stated they need more time to balance the game for public lobbies before even thinking about developing an esport. Though this may disappoint competitive players, it’s most likely the correct direction for the game. Jumping into esports too early could have a negative effect on the game as a whole.

Lastly, Hyper Scape will arrive on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. We have no word on a next-generation release, though, so we’ll have to wait for any details regarding that. But for the Technical Test, the battle royale is only available on PC. Whenever it launches later in 2020 – an exact date is unconfirmed – consoles will be included.
