Fallout 76: Steel Dawn is the first chapter in the new Brotherhood of Steel quest, and it will be launched for free on December 1.
Steel Dawn will introduce plenty of new content to the wasteland, including new locations, gear, and C.A.M.P. Shelters. The main attraction, however, is the new questline. Brotherhood of Steel will have you aiding the iconic organization as they rebuild the world around them. Bethesda said, “Steel Dawn is the first chapter in the new Brotherhood of Steel questline, free for Fallout 76 players. Paladin Leila Rahmani and her troops have arrived from California to establish a new Appalachian chapter.” You’ll get to decide whether or not you want to work with or against other factions to make the new settlement a success.
Bethesda also announced a new season and S.C.O.R.E. board, kicking off December 15.
A new trailer was released to go with the announcement – showing off a few new locations, NPCs, and gear. You can check it out below:
Fallout 76 got off to a rough start when it first launched in 2018. Devoid of most NPCs and other signs of life beyond real players, the experience wasn’t what fans of the series had come to expect. Fast-forward to today and it’s one of the most popular MMO experience around. In fact, Todd Howard recently said the Fallout 76 backlash turned out to be a “positive experience.” Fans helped shape the future of Fallout 76, and the Steel Dawn expansion looks to be another great way to expand the game.
Best of all, anyone who already owns 76 will get Steel Dawn for free. If you play Fallout 76 on PC, you can even head over to the Public Test Server right now to jump into the action and give your feedback on the PTS forum.
Once you finish all the content in Steel Dawn, you can look forward to more questing in 2021. Bethesda has big plans for The Brotherhood of Steel, and this free update in December is just the tip of the iceberg.
