A brand new PlayStation 5 console is launching, and just in time for Christmas. Just days after fans discovered a lighter new PS5 variant, Sony has unveiled a new design. In a new post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has previewed the PS5 Gray Camouflage Collection. As you can see from the images above and below, the camouflage colour scheme is used on the console itself, as well as the PS5 DualSense controller and the Pulse 3D wireless headset.

Sony explains more: “Bring a fresh, unique aesthetic into play with the new Gray Camouflage Collection coming to the PS5 family of accessories.

“Adding to the previously released galaxy-inspired colour lineup, the Gray Camouflage Collection features a matching set of accessories with the DualSense wireless controller, PS5 console covers for both the PS5 with the Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and the PS5 Digital Edition, and Pulse 3D wireless headset.”

According to Sony, pre-orders will go live on September 15, before the launch of the camo console and DualSense controller in October. The Pulse 3D Wireless headset, on the other hand, launches in December.

Sony has also confirmed that a limited number of PlayStation Direct customers will be able to purchase the new products early.

If you want a chance to pick up any of the products from the Gray Camouflage Collection, then it’s worth signing up to the PlayStation Direct website.

You can take a closer look at the new PlayStation 5 Gray Camouflage Collection below.

The news comes shortly after fans discovered a redesigned PS5, which weighs 600 grams less than the original model.

The digital-only console is also lighter than the original model, weighing 3.4kg – which is a reduction of 500 grams.

The size difference isn’t enough for the new model to qualify for PS5 Slim status, but it’s certainly lighter than it was at launch.

Here’s hoping Sony continues to bring the size down further, because the PlayStation 5’s biggest issue is that while it plays like a beauty, it looks like a beast.

The release of the new model coincides with a sudden PS5 price increase, which has already taken effect in the UK.

in the UK, the PlayStation 5 console now retails for £479.99 for a disc-based unit, and £389.99 for a Digital Edition.

Representing an increase of £30, Sony explained that the price increase is the result of “high global inflation rates, as well as adverse currency trends”.
