Call of Duty Modern Warfare update: Warzone Quads gone, replaced with Realism Mode

Today’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare update makes big playlist changes to COD Warzone on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Call of Duty Warzone has seen the normal Battle Royale Quads option removed and replaced with something new that was promised earlier during the Season 4 launch.

Playlist updates happen often in Modern Warfare, and this is the second time this week changes have been made.

Plunder’s Blood Money Variant was brought back to the game on Thursday, while the multiplayer free weekend saw other modes dropped.

Developers Infinity Ward confirmed the latest changes on Twitter today, in a message that suggests the new Warzone Realism Mode release will be temporary.

“This weekend’s playlist update for #Warzone is now live across all platforms!” the message reads.

“Jump into Realism Battle Royale (Quads). This temporarily replaces Battle Royale Quads.”

Realism Mode was confirmed as coming to COD Warzone with the release of Season 4. Described as a more classic version of COD gameplay, Infinity Ward confirms that the rules in Realism are familiar.

Players will notice that they will have a basic HUD and will be able to take down entire teams with increased accuracy.

The official description adds: “Realism in Warzone follows the same rules as the Multiplayer mode. You’ll have a minimal HUD and deal increased headshot damage. Make sure you make the most of it, but fire with precision.

Warzone Realism is only available to play in teams of fours and replaces the normal Warzone Quads Mode.

This means that you won’t be able to play Quads Battle Royale until Infinity Ward makes its next Playlist change.

For now, there is no word on when the normal Call of Duty Warzone Quads experience will be coming back to PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Infinity Ward has also confirmed the other playlist changes that will be introduced during Call of Duty Season 4, description of which can be found below:

In Juggernaut Royale, a Battle Royale mode variant, the massive Multiplayer Killstreak drops into Verdansk – three airdropped care packages, specifically, hold the Juggernaut suit.

Head to one of the marked locations to capture and don the Juggernaut suit. Once you have it on, you’ll have higher health, a mini-gun, and a sweet music track to accompany you during the Warzone match.

You’ll still be able to ride in vehicles and climb ladders, and your zero-fall damage will be accompanied by a ground pound of damage that impacts anyone in the immediate area. If any of the Juggernauts are sent to the Gulag, after a brief delay period, a new Juggernaut care package will be marked on the Tac-Map and deploy into Verdansk.

WARZONE RUMBLE – Already Released

Expand your squad in an intensive large team battle in Warzone Rumble. Battle in Verdansk in a 50v50 Team Deathmatch face-off. Choose your loadout before you enter a match and work with your squad to secure victory.

ONE IN THE CHAMBER MW – Already Released

One in the Chamber is a Free-For-All mode where each player begins the match with a single bullet in their randomly select weapon.

All players are given the same handgun. You can only resupply your ammo by getting a kill either with your gun, melee, or Finishing Move. There are no Field Upgrades, perks, or Killstreaks in this mode.

You have three lives and earn points for getting kills and surviving longer than other players. Each kill earns you an additional bullet, and the player with the most points wins the game.
