Konami is gearing up to host an event at the Tokyo Game Show 2022 which all eyes will be on. On Friday September 16 Konami will be holding two TGS events – one that takes place at 7.30am BST where a “new title” will be announced and then the main Konami TGS event is scheduled for 1pm UK time. All eyes will be on these events as in the run-up Konami teased a “world loved” series was making a comeback with more details coming at TGS.

This has got fans excited as for years rumours have been swirling around that the veteran Japanese developer is working on new Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid games.

It’s thought remasters of the first three Metal Gear Solid games are in the works – which could get announced this year as the series is celebrating its landmark 35th anniversary.

While a remake of Silent Hill 2 and a new mainline entry in the terrifying survival horror series is also allegedly in the works.

The Silent Hill 2 Remake and new mainline Silent Hill game are thought to be PS5 exclusives and it’s believed an announcement is due soon.

So, when Konami announced a “world loved” series was making a comeback and that more news was coming at TGS this created huge excitement, especially among the Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill communities.

Of course, fans immediately connected the dots and thought Konami could be teasing an announcement on MGS or Silent Hill – but the mysterious game they may be referring to could actually be a new Suikoden.

As DualShockers reported earlier this month, Konami recently renewed the trademark for Suikoden ahead of TGS.

Which could point towards the game that’s about to be announced at TGS being a new Suikoden title.

Elsewhere, there’s another sign that the game Konami is about to reveal is Suikoden – and not a new MGS or Silent Hill.

It looks like the upcoming Konami TGS event will not be showing 18+ rated games. That’s important as those kind of adult ratings would typically be applied for a game like Silent Hill, but not Suikoden.
