A brand new Pokemon Go event went live around the girl earlier today and although it's only available in certain countries at the time of writing, it's only a few hours to go until players in the UK can get involved.
Today marks the introduction of the games Spring themed event. By the time you read this, chances are, the event will be live, but for the sake of any early risers, the Spring event officially starts on Thursday, April 9, 2020, at 8:00 am local time.
It ends in one week's time, on Thursday April 16, 2020, at 10:00 pm local time, meaning you have plenty of time to make the most of the new in-game bonuses.
So even if you might be forced to stay indoors due to the ongoing worldwide Coronavirus outbreak, you can rest assured that Niantic are doing everything they can to make the game as accessible as possible and packed with new content.

Pokemon Go April Field Research tasks, rewards and breakthrough latest updates
For now though, we're focusing on the games latest new addition to the Pokemon Go shiny list: Exeggcute!
Niantic told players ahead of time that they were adding the shiny rotten egg, but it's not the only shiny to be on the hunt for.
So keep your eyes peeled for Shiny Marill, and new shiny variations for flower crown-wearing pokemon – such as Pikachu, Buneary and Togepi.
If you're wondering how to go about catching yourself a shiny Exeggcute, then fear not and keep reading!
How to catch shiny Marill in Pokemon GO?
As stated, the Pokemon Go 'Spring event' is now live and will take place for one week.
Which means you have seven days to grab yourself this new shiny Exeggcute.
However, at the time of writing there's only one sure fire way to nab yourself a shiny Exeggcute and that's by trying to catch as many as possible in the wild.
Exeggcute isn't available via field research quest nor can Exeggcute be caught from egg hatches or raids.
So you simply have to keep trying to catch Exeggcute as much as possible in the wild.
We'd suggest that to increase your chances you should head over to the Silph Road Global Nest Atlas to find your nearest Exeggcute nest.
Sound advice to follow even once the Spring event concludes.
