The date and time for the PS5 State of Play stream in August may have been revealed. Sony still has plenty to share on the PS5 ahead of its launch later this year. And rumour has it the PlayStation makers will be dropping more games reveals following their June PS5 event next month.
One of the big announcements at the next State of Play will allegedly be the reveal of the heavily rumoured Silent Hill reboot for the PS5.
While we may also finally find out more details on the price, exact release date and when pre-orders for the PS5 will open during the event.
And ahead of official confirmation of the date and time for the next State of Play, PS5 fans could have found out when they’ll need to free up their diary.
The August State of Play will allegedly take place on Thursday August 6 with a start time of 11pm BST, 4pm eastern and 1pm pacific.

This news comes courtesy of Roberto Serrano, who previously correctly leaked the timings for the re-arranged PS5 reveal event back in June.
In a post on Twitter Serrano said: “*BREAKING NEWS* #PS5 fans, pin this. Sony @PlayStation 5 next event is scheduled for AUGUST 6th 2020 – 1pm PT | 4pm ET | 10pm CEST”.
Serrano added this was ‘to be confirmed’ and said the next PS5 event will be streamed on Twitch, YouTube and the official PlayStation website.
It remains to be seen whether this turns out to be the case, but it does chime in with other rumours that claimed another PS5 event will air in early August.
The PS5 reveal event in June was a huge hit, with analysis from VGC saying it drew in higher viewing numbers than the PS4 reveal and last year’s E3.
The Future of Gaming stream unveiled first-party titles such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7 and the Demon’s Souls remake.

And the stream also unveiled the futuristic and eye-catching design of the PS5 console and announced the All Digital Edition.
There was plenty to get excited about in the PS5 reveal event, but there’s reason to believe Sony haven’t played their cards fully.
Eurogamer’s Tom Phillips earlier this month tweeted to say Sony still has more games to announce and looks like they held some things back from the June event.
Phillips tweeted: “Sony has 1st and 3rd party stuff still to announce. Feels like it has quite smartly held some stuff back.”
It remains to be seen what other games Sony could announce in the next State of Play.
Earlier this year rumours had emerged that Sony had struck a deal to make new games based on classic Konami IPs.
New games in the Silent Hill, Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid series are allegedly in the works exclusively for the PS5.
While Square Enix and Sony have a track record of making Final Fantasy announcements together at PlayStation events.
The obvious candidates for such an announcement would be the reveal of Final Fantasy 16 or the first footage of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2.
Other games that could also get revealed during the PS5 event include the next entries in the Call of Duty and Batman Arkham series.
