Tekken 8 Motion Capture Footage Seems To Confirm Yoshimitsu, Lars, And Alex

Motion capture footage for Tekken 8 that was recently shared seems to be teasing that Yoshimitsu, Lars, and Alex the velociraptor are all going to be featured in the roster.

As spotted by ResetEra user Dale Copper, NHK PR recently shared a video that shows behind-the-scenes motion capture footage of Tekken 8. Although the clip doesn't explicitly show any new characters, some of the props, costumes, and poses give some very clear hints at the return of some fan favourites.

The first character that is pretty heavily hinted at within the footage is Yoshimitsu, one of the most well-known characters in the series. One section of the clip shows a motion capture actor with a katana being pinned up against a wall in a very strange pose. Yoshimitsu is always portrayed with a sword and pulls off some pretty strange poses, which might be why the actor is being placed up against the wall like that.

The next character is pretty much confirmed rather than just being hinted at. During the clip, one actor can be seen roaring while trying to look like a dinosaur, complete with a little tail. Tekken has many animal fighters, but Alex the velociraptor is pretty much the only one that fits the bill here, unless it's somehow Gon. All he's missing are the boxing gloves.

Finally, one eagle-eyed Tekken fan was able to spot that one of the actors is doing a pose that looks almost identical to how Lars stands in his default pose, with his left hand down and his right hand up. It's a pose that's pretty specific to Lars, so it seems like confirmation that he's returning too.

Considering Tekken 8 is confirmed to make an appearance at The Game Awards next week, there's a chance that we'll see any of these three characters make their debut in a new trailer. Even if they don't get shown off soon, this motion capture footage all but confirms that they're going to be in the game in some manner.
