Puzzle fans are in for a treat this December as there are a couple of promising looking titles on the way. One of those comes from Orichalcum Pictures and VR Connection, Ryte: The Eye of Atlantis, with the developers launching a new gameplay video whilst confirming the launch date.
The trailer showcases new locations and puzzles from Ryte: The Eye of Atlantis which has taken inspiration from videogame classic Myst. It also features commentary from the team, detailing the backstory to its development as well as the narrative.
Ryte: The Eye of Atlantis blends both myth and archaeological history from ancient Greece and Egyptian civilizations, taking you to the city of Atlantis. Here you play an Atlantean who has recently broken out of prison, tasked with joining forces with clerics to save the civilisation from catastrophe.
“Our team spent countless hours researching the work of scientists and ancient Greek philosophers in order to craft an exciting yet believable version of Atlantis,” said Clovis Rossillon, President of Orichalcum Pictures in a statement. “We can’t wait for fans of adventure games and historical fiction to embark on their own Iliads and Odysseys soon.”
To save the day you’ll be able to wield supernatural powers like telekinesis to manipulate the environment, decipher riddles and explore this mythical universe. Along the way, you’ll make allies with Atlantean like Danae and witness epic battles between giant centurions. To encourage further exploration of Ryte: The Eye of Atlantis there will be four distinct endings to unlock.
Ryte: The Eye of Atlantis is coming to Steam VR and Oculus Store on 8th December 2020 supporting Valve Index, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Also on its way is Cyan’s Myst, arriving 10th December for Oculus Quest. For further updates on the latest puzzle videogames, keep reading VRFocus.
